Advantages of Geodesic Greenhouses

Wooden greenhouses with flat roofs and walls can become stressed along the flat panels at the sides and roof peak. Geodesic domes are made of triangles joined together to create a half sphere. Each triangle is connected at every point to create a self-supporting structure that evenly distributes external forces from wind and snow onto every frame strut. The half sphere shape also benefits internal growing conditions. The angled panels allow sunlight to enter the greenhouse throughout the day without dips in light transmission when the sun changes position. Curved walls also prevent dead spots and stagnant corners found in box-style greenhouses. Heat collects evenly throughout the dome and warm air rises, creating natural air movement for more consistent temperature and humidity levels.

KingDome Sizes and Growing Capacity

• 12 Ft Dome Greenhouse Kit (113 sq ft): Height of 6 ft tall (Model 2V plus base). Suitable for backyards gardens or raised bed gardens that will grow enough vegetables to feed between 2–4 people. Comes with one standard framed frequency door and vent.
• 15 Ft Dome (176 sq ft): Center height of either 7 ft 6 in (Model 2V) or 7 ft 2 in (Model 3V). Starting greenhouses built to grow vegetables for 3–4 people. Custom door and vent options available.
• 20 Ft Dome (314 sq ft): Center height is 8 ft 2 in (Model 3V) or 10 ft tall (Model 2V). Ideal greenhouses for serious gardeners requiring lots of head space for trellised plants like tomatoes, pole beans, and berry bushes. Fits tall hobby orchard trees when amended with hang down rooting spaces.
• 30 Ft Dome Greenhouse Kit (706 sq ft): Heights up to 14 ft 2 inches. Large greenhouse kit for big families or market gardens feeding between 7–8 people. Includes two vents as standard. Can be upgraded to add French doors.
• 40', 50' & 60'+ Commercial Greenhouse Kits (1,250+ sq ft): Greenhouses built for commercial growers, schools, or community garden projects.
• Custom Sizes Available for Long Dome Tunnels and Domes: Runs such as 25'x50', 50'x100' tunnels or larger diameter domes up to 120' wide are available. Please call for details.

Build Details

• Frame: Constructed standard with heavy-duty structural steel connectors. 2x6 base boards and 2x4 struts are treated with advanced eco-treated lumber process to resist rot and moisture from soil.
• Covering Options: Kits come with heavy-duty 12 mil interwoven reinforced polyethylene skin backed by a 7-year UV warranty. Optional second layer of poly skin adds extra insulation value or upgrade to 3mm to 5mm rigid hard-sided Solexx twin-wall panels.
• Entrance and Venting: All standard domes include frequency door. Mid-size to larger models can upgrade to large 36x80 9-lite entry doors or 60x80 double French doors. Extra ventilation options are available for optimal climate control.

DIY Options and Professional Installation

• DIY Self-Installation Kits: Available for smaller 15' to 30' models that can be installed by owners with access to a drill, circular saw, hammer (and common tools), and at least two people. Color-coded greenhouse parts and detailed layout instructions make assembly easier. Parts come with a 5 year warranty on all struts and hubs.
• Professional Supervised Installation: We provide an on-site supervisor to walk your local crew or group of volunteers through the process of foundation preparation, assembly of frame, and placing of cover.
• Turnkey Installations with Full Crew: Primarily meant for our larger commercial size models (40' and larger). Fully assembled by professional crews in 2 to 5 days. Protect your investment with a 2 year full parts and labor warranty plus an additional 3 years parts-only warranty.
